The North London Transport Forum

North London has benefited from a strong history of partnership working across the public, business, education and voluntary sectors. The area is served by a single Learning and Skills Council, shares the same sub-regional delivery arm of Business Link for London and has its own Connexions service.

Building on these common issues, the North London Strategic Alliance (NLSA) was established in 1999 as the subregional strategic partnership for North London. We bring together public, private and voluntary organisations working in Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest. (Our full membership is listed in Annex A.)

We share a common interest in working for a vibrant and successful North London that plays a full role in shaping London’s future and aim to:

  • raise the profile of North London and increase public and private sector investment in the sub-region
  • influence key decision makers in the sub-region and across London
  • work together to benefit North London and London as a whole
The North London Transport Forum

The North London Transport Forum (NLTF) works under the auspices of the NLSA to develop the sub-region’s transport infrastructure and is the focus for co-ordination and representation on transport themes.

The North London Business Alliance

The North London Business Alliance (NLBA) is made up of senior business leaders drawn from the North London Chamber of Commerce. We promote the delivery of key business priorities through ensuring private sector representation on partnerships at all levels. We have a special interest in promoting North London as a world class business location. (Our full membership is listed in Annex B.)

North London’s Voluntary Sector

The NLSA is totally committed to the establishment of a strong, representative and effective North London Voluntary and Community Sector Alliance that aims to embrace over 2,000 organisations affecting the lives of 200,000 people within the next 12 months. In doing this, we will build on the work already undertaken by the North London Voluntary Sector Forum and North London’s Local Councils for Voluntary Service.
