Housing Growth
North London, as part of the London-Stansted-Cambridge-Peterbourgh Corridor, is a designated housing growth area. The sub region has a number of major opportunity sites which will be delivering large numbers of new homes over the coming years. The NLSA supports its partners in lobbying to ensure the investment needed to deliver the transport and social infrastructure to support this level of growth.
North London Design Surgeries
The NLSA, funded by Homes and Communities Agency, are repeating their successful program of design surgeries for boroughs. This is an opportunity for boroughs to gain informal advice on, ideally, pre-application schemes. For more information contact the North London Growth Area Coordinator.
North London Development and Investment Framework
The London Development Agency (LDA) lead on the Development and Investment Framework (NLDIF) for the North London part of the London Stansted-Peterborough-Cambridge Growth Area. The NLDIF maps out the level of housing growth projected across the north London growth area and starts to consider the level of investment required to support this 10% increase in population. In January 2009 the NLSA published a report on the progress of the NLDIF one year on. The report was launched at an event attended by Iain Wright MP, the Housing Growth Minister, and where there were presentations by the Deputy Mayor of London, Sir Simon Milton and the Chief Executive of the Homes & Communities Agency, Sir Bob Kerslake.
The NLSA also works closely with the North London Housing sub-region, which compromises the six boroughs: Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington, Camden and Westminster. Please contact the Sub-regional Coordinator for more details.
