NLSA

Planning

Informing the development of land use planning at a regional and sub regional level is a key priority for the NLSA. We aim to increase understanding of the sub-region, develop consensus on sub-regional issues and influence regional planning policy. Working with our partners we aim to inform and influence key documents such as the Mayor's London Plan and the East of England Plan.

The NLSA has made a series of submissions the development of the London Plan, most recently in January 2010 andis appearing at the Examination in Public in summer 2010.

Seven Sisters Corridor

The NLSA, working with the boroughs of Hackney, Haringey and Islington, has been supporting a coordinated approach to growth along the Seven Sisters Corridor. The corridor runs along Seven Sisters Road from the Holloway Road, past Finsbury Park and Woodberry Down to Seven Sisters Underground station. The area has a series of major development sites with clear cross-borough boundary implications. The first stage of this work mapped out the growth potential and the key issues, including improving access to the area's parks and waterway and supporting the local economy.

London - Luton Coordination Corridor

The NLSA has been working with a wide range of partners to define the major area of growth that lies along the A5 / M1 / Thameslink in North London. Via this work the corridor was recognised in the London Plan.

The corridor lies across the boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Camden and Harrow, and includes major regeneration and growth at Wembley, Brent Cross, Kings Cross and Euston. This report was launched by the Deputy Mayor of London, outlining the principle elements of the corridor.

The NLSA has also submitted additional points to the London Plan on the progress made in the corridor.
