North London Skills and Employment Profile

NLSA commissioned a review of the key skills and employment data of the north London subregion. The report was launched in July 2008 and includes data on a range of different indicators, including population trends, worklessness and skills levels.

NLSA commissioned a consultation with a wide range of partners across the subregion to understand better what they thought of subregional working and what they consider NLSA’s priorities should be in the area of skills and employment. In total over 29 organisations where consulted, aiming principally at Chief Executive / Director level.

The North London Strategic Alliance (NLSA) was established in 1999 as the sub-regional strategic partnership for North London, bring together public, private and voluntary organisations.

The NLSA currently works across Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest. However this is a transitional period and the new sub regional arrangements being progressed by
the Greater London Authority means NLSA will also be looking to develop relationship across Camden, Hackney, Islington and Westminster.
